After 8+ years of experience practicing in high volume PT offices, Ann Chen—Owner and licensed Physical Therapist—saw the need for a more focused, personalized experience. With a vision of restoring independence and well-being, Graphene Physical Therapy assists individuals in regaining their strength, mobility, and confidence. Based in New York, NY, we provide one-on-one treatment guided by thorough evaluation and expert attention. Our clinic focuses on orthopedic rehabilitation, helping patients overcome joint, muscle, and movement limitations that interfere with everyday life.
“As a former competitive figure skater and lifelong athlete, I’ve always been passionate about movement and the joy of an active lifestyle. However, my own journey took a turn when I faced multiple ankle injuries, eventually leading to a complete ligament rupture. Faced with the choice of surgery or doing nothing, I chose the latter, only to develop pain in my knee and hip years later. This experience ignited my desire to help others find conservative solutions to their injuries.
I pursued my education at McGill University, majoring in neuroscience, before completing my physical therapy training at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. After becoming licensed in Ontario, I gained invaluable experience in a busy private practice before moving to New York City, where I worked in a high-volume clinic in Soho for nearly five years. During this time, I realized that I could not provide the quality of care I believed in, as I was only able to spend a brief amount of time with each patient.
Driven by a vision to transform the physical therapy experience, I opened Graphene Physical Therapy in March 2023. My practice is dedicated to offering private sessions where each patient receives my undivided attention for the entire session. This personalized approach has led to remarkable improvements in recovery times and long-term outcomes for my patients.
At Graphene Physical Therapy, my mission is to empower active individuals to overcome their injuries and regain their quality of life through tailored, attentive care.”
